There must be some reason why certain people build more muscle and lose more fat than others.

Said another way, if two equally gifted individuals start working out ... why does one make significant progress and the other looks like they don't even belong to a gym?

Is it simply a random occurrence - the proverbial, "your genetics determine your physique"?

Is it simply whoever trained harder on that particular day? Is it simply that one person had a greater desire to challenge themselves than the other?

To be sure things like genetics, opportunity and desire contribute to the outcome of most bodybuilders, but there is another factor - often unseen - that plays a huge role in determining who gets to show off the six pack when summer rolls around.

Until I started following a routine to eat, my gains were minimal. Once I set my eating times to a specific time during the day along with a protein boost, I could see the gains immediately. This sample program is a quick way to get your protein WAY up and generally increase your food intake. But it doesn't require the traditional sit down 6 a day to eat 30 chicken breasts and spend all day cooking.

Creatine and Teenagers

Continually in the news people see the questions about creatine and a teenager. Especially in high school sports where in some cases the supplement has been banned. But if you have read the creatine article entitled "Creatine: What is it?" you will certainly know it's not banned because it's an illegal or dangerous supplement.

In fact, the best general article to read when it comes to creatine side effects is The Truth About Creatine Side Effects.

Doesn't weight training build muscle and increase your metabolic rate and therefore the increase in your metabolic rate reduces fat? And if so, then doesn't this mean that you have gained muscle and lost fat at the same time?

I can understand how you might be confused because it's true that the more muscle you have, the higher your metabolic rate will be and the more fat you will burn as a result of having more muscle.

Women Who Lift Weights Turn Into Men?

There's a big myth that women have to train different then men. They don't. They can lift weights, do the same exercise, build a little muscle, become stronger and still be 100% female. Building muscle isn't all that easy right? You don't just do some weights and have a 21" inch arms the next month.

My point is...

Women can do the same things as men do.
