Couple of weeks ago I saw a great film called Ratatouille. It's animated, and tells the story of a little country rat that goes to Paris to realise his (however unlikely) dream of becoming a chef. Initially, it was just seriously good entertainment, a feel-good movie-but the thing is, it stuck with me and I keep discovering new layers of meaning bellow the humble surface.

There are three distinct types of weight loss aids:

1. Visual
2. Auditory and
3. Kinaesthetic aids

The bad news is: Willpower and self-discipline is essential if you want to lose weight successfully. And it is up to you, and you alone to discover the weight loss aids that will help you stick to your weight management program for the rest of you life.

Losing weight is difficult. Keeping it off is even more of a challenge. So how come some people manage to do so apparently effortlessly? What is their secret?

Have you ever set a weight loss goal and not achieved it? Most people have. In fact, it's quite common for people to get stuck in an endless cycle of setting weight loss goals and then quitting them shortly afterwards.

In the current issue of the British Horse Society's Magazine there is a double page spread covered in furious letters from some seriously upset readers.

The cause of all these ruffled feathers is a controversial letter that was published in a previous issue. The letter writer was of the firm conviction that overweight riders should not be allowed anywhere in the vicinity a horse's back.

When I first set out to write this article, the idea was to explain to fellow-dieters how tremendously useful self-hypnosis and NLP is to ensure weight loss success. Somehow it didn't quite turn out that way. What started as a superficial intellectual exercise ended as an in-depth personal exploration of my own weight loss theories.

How did it all come about? At the time I was preparing the material for a new e-book about weight loss through hypnosis, my personal life was rather complicated and getting more complicated by the day.
